Sustainability drives every aspect of our business

At Cweed Aqua Solutions Sdn. Bhd., we are committed to promoting sustainable seaweed cultivation practices that contribute positively to our environment, communities, and the global food system. Seaweed is one of the most sustainable crops on the planet—it requires no freshwater, fertilisers, or pesticides to grow. Through our sustainability efforts, we focuses on the ocean health & restoration, zero-input farming, blue carbon & carbon sequestration and supporting local communities through seaweed cultivation. We are working closely with the Universiti Malaya for the research & innovation to optimise seaweed cultivation practices, improve yields, and expand the potential applications of seaweed. We also partner with environmental organisations, universities, and scientific institutions to ensure that our operations are both efficient and environmentally sound. By aligning with nature’s cycles, we believe that seaweed cultivation represents a sustainable solution for food production, environmental restoration, and economic growth. We are proud to play a part in cultivating a greener future for our oceans and our planet

Supporting Local Communities

We collaborate with coastal communities to promote sustainable livelihoods through seaweed cultivation. By providing training, practical solutions and fair pricing, we ensure that local farmers benefit from the growing global demand for seaweed, enhancing food security and economic development in their regions.

Cweed Aqua Solutions Sdn Bhd's
Key Impact Areas for Sustainability

Ocean Health &
Restoration

Seaweed cultivation helps restore ocean health by absorbing excess carbon dioxide and nitrogen from the water, mitigating ocean acidification, and improving water quality. Our farms act as marine habitats, fostering biodiversity by providing shelter and food for various marine species.

Zero-Input
Farming

Unlike traditional agriculture, seaweed cultivation requires no land, freshwater, or artificial inputs. Seaweed thrives by naturally absorbing nutrients from the surrounding water, which helps combat nutrient pollution in coastal areas.

Blue Carbon & Carbon Sequestration

Blue carbon’ refers to the carbon sequestered by marine ecosystems. Seaweeds are considered relatively easy to grow with a short farming cycle. Seaweed is a powerful tool in the fight against climate change. We are dedicated to exploring innovative ways to leverage seaweed’s ability to sequester carbon and contribute to climate resilience.

Our efforts reflect our mission and values, advancing progress toward these crucial Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
