At Cweed Aqua Solutions Sdn. Bhd., we are committed to being a catalyst for
sustainable seaweed production in Malaysia.
Our approach provides an eco-friendly alternative that not only
restores marine ecosystems but also supports the long-term
prosperity of coastal communities.
Our Seaweed-Based Solutions
Global warming affects biological and ecological processes, impacting
the whole marine food web and disrupting the natural resources vital
for the livelihood of coastal communities in Malaysia. This has also led
to a higher incidence of zoonotic diseases and a related overuse of
antimicrobials to combat these diseases. The overuse of antimicrobials
globally is increasing antimicrobial resistance (AMR), minimizing their
effectiveness and exposing the community to health risks. Pathogenic
bacteria communicate using signals, known as quorum sensing (QS), and
research has demonstrated that seaweed is able to interfere the
communication, potentially controlling diseases and reducing AMR.
